15 Hours Funded Places
All 3-5 year olds in England are eligible for up to 15 hours of free early education or childcare per week for 38 weeks of the year (term time). This funding may be used to provide a place from the first term after their third birthday, if your child turns 3 between:
- 1st September & 31st December – funding will start from January
- 1st January & 31st March – funding will start from April
- 1st April & 31st August – funding will start from September
30 Hours Funded Places for 3 & 4 Year Olds
3 steps to apply for 30 hours funding
Step 1 – Information on who will or will not qualify for 30 hours free childcare can be found on the government website below

Step 2 – To apply for the additional 15 hours funding and to obtain your authorisation code login to.
www.childcarechoices.gov.uk
Step 3 – Once you have your code please pass on to Pippins so that we can apply it to your childcare.
2 Year Old Funded Places
From 1st April 2024 working parents with children who will be 2 years of age by 31st March 2024 are eligible for 15 hours funded childcare.
Applications for the funded childcare Eligibility Code for the Summer Term must be made before the 1st April via the website below

Once funding has been allocated to a setting it cannot be transferred to another provider until the beginning of the following term. If your child attends more than one setting, then funding can be spilt between the settings.
The 15 hours funded child care will need to be used over two and a half days, we are unable to offer half day sessions for these hours.
